Blood and urine can be collected without making an appointment Monday to Firday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

We offer coagulation setting (INR testing) Monday to Friday between 7 a.m. and 12 p.m.

We offer blood sugar stress tests by appointment between Monday to Friday between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. call +43 1 890 67 15 to book your appointment.

Generally, you won’t need to make an appointment with us.

An appointment can be made by telephone +43 1 890 67 15 for the following examinations: Blood sugar load test, semen analysis, home visits, H2 breath test for lactose/fructose/bacterial overgrowth of the small intestine.

Yes, please make sure to come for a blood sample on an empty stomach, i.e. at least ten hours after ingesting your last meal. Drinking water is permitted.

Generally, your tablets should only be taken after the blood sample has been taken (e.g. blood thinning medication such as Marcoumar etc.) If it is very important medication that cannot be postponed, this can of course be done with a sip of water.

WARNING:
If the concentration of a drug is to be determined, the drug must be taken after the blood sample has been drawn.
If the body’s own hormone production is to be assessed, tablets containing these hormones should be discontinued 10 days in advance and after consulting your doctor (e.g. thyroid hormone replacement therapy, contraceptive pill etc.) This also applies to hormone patches.

State-of-the-art examination procedures generally ensure rapid diagnosis, whilst complex examinations require more time. If follow-up examinations are necessary or samples have to be sent to partner or special laboratories for further clarification, the preparation of your findings may take a little bit longer.

The finished medical findings can be picked up from us personally, or we can send them to you by post (for a postage fee). If you have decided on the digital download, you will receive an email with the notice that your findings are available for download. You can find more information about the findings here.

Most of the analyses are paid for by the Austrian health insurance providers and settled directly between the health insurance provider and IHR LABOR 1150. However, some special analyses or services are not paid for. Our specialized staff will be more than happy to inform you of the costs that you may incur before the blood sample is taken so that you can make an informed decision whether you want to proceed with the examinations which are subject to a fee.

This is usually done by the referring doctor. Our specialists are more than happy to provide you with assistance.

Your samples will be properly stored by us for one week. During this period, the referring doctor can request additional examinations, provided that the parameters are not time critical.

The range includes more than 1000 parameters from a wide variety of research areas. This ranges from standard tests such as blood sugar or cholesterol levels to special tests or microbiological evaluations. Here you will find further information about our services.

You will usually receive the referral slip from your treating doctor. Please bring this referral slip and your e-card with you to the appointment.

 

Yes of course. If you come as a private patient, you will be informed of the costs which are to be paid by you prior to the examination. If you agree, you will receive an invoice which is to be paid immediately in cash, debit or credit card. If necessary, you can submit the costs to your private insurance company.

 

If you are reffered by your doctor, he/she will receive the medical findings by post or via a secure online transmission.
